How Do I Locate Reports to Show Proof of Timely Filing?

Claims are often denied by insurance companies for timely filing. Timely filing is when an insurance company puts a time limit on claims submission.

For example, if a payer has a 90-day timely filing requirement, that means you need to submit the claim within 90 days of the date of service. We suggest consulting with each of your insurance companies to find more information about their timely filing rules as each insurance company has its own guidelines for filing claims in a timely fashion.

In the event, you need proof of timely filing for claims you've submitted electronically, this can easily be accomplished using Clearinghouse Reports within the Reports section of CollaborateMD.

Follow the instructions below to locate your timely filing reports:
  1. Go to the Report section > Clearinghouse Reports tab.
  2. Under Search Criteria, select the Retrieve Listing of All Reports option.
  3. Modify the date Range to match submission date (you can find this in the activity of the claim).
  4. In the Containing content field, enter the claim's TCN number, patient name, or other identifying information.
  5. Click Search.
  6. You can locate your timely filing reports under the Acknowledgement tab or the Payer Generated tab.
Note: Clearinghouse Reports are printable or savable to your computer in order to submit proof to the payer.
